Curriculum vitae

2021 - Present
Founder of MOVZ, Video-based dance learning platform

  • Developed a web application enabling dancers to mirror, slow, and dissect video footage via URL input. Drove early traction through social media and measured demand via survey.
  • Pitched to 100+ investors and raised USD120k in Angel Investment
  • Created specs docs, user stories, and UX flows to communicate product requirements to development team within SCRUM framework
  • Launched multi-channel adoption strategy and generated 20k+ downloads within 60 days of going live
  • Implemented Mixpanel instrumentation and created data visualisation frameworks that inform funnel performance and consequent iterations, ultimately leading to a NPS of 52 and 4.5 app rating
  • Monetised the platform by giving choreographers a paywall to sell their work, averaging USD 380 in monthly profit per creator
  • When copyright issues threatened the model, I pivoted to a subscription service, turning MOVZ into a profitable, self-funding business that continues to grow through social ads, affiliates, and live events

Comments
💬 This pivot stung. Fairer compensation for dancers and choreographers is something I feel strongly about and while the model changed, I continue to partner with choreographers for promotional activities and pay fairly.
💬 At this time I wanted to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology but shortly after decided for the Master's at HES which allowed me the flexibility to build MOVZ simultaneously
💬 My partner left his position as Director for Marketing at Amazon in Japan and I followed him to his home country Australia
💬 Film has always been my passion and Premiere Pro my outlet. After my bachelor's I took time to travel, and that led me to eventually working in a production studio in Tokyo
